TBN's Praise the Lord February 28th- Not Your Mama's TBN!!
I’m thrilled to be on TBN’s Praise the Lord show tonight at 10 pm ET/9CT– and this show is definitely not your momma’s TBN! Hosted by a Lifeway leader, Ed Stetzer, we were rockin’ out with Francesca Battistelli, the For King & Country guys, teaching pastor Kyle Idleman of one of the largest churches in the country, Philly pastor Eric Mason – I could hardly believe all the amazing people I had a chance to meet! Tune in tonight!
Backstage at TBN (airing tonight at 10ET!) – With two of my favorite musicians: Joel with For King & Country and Moriah Peters – and they are married to each other! I gave the newlyweds my newest marriage book. And here’s the embarrassing thing. I had spent time with Joel before, when we were both speaking/singing on a cruise a few years back. I knew he got married recently but hadn’t heard his wife’s name. I met her backstage and she is a DOLL, and when Joel introduced her to me I heard her name as “Mariah.” I really enjoyed reconnecting with Joel and meeting her, and I told them congrats and gave them my book. Today I thought I should find out her full name, so I googled her… and nearly fell out of my chair when I realized Joel was married to MORIAH PETERS – who is one of our family’s favorite Christian artists! I had spent the evening with Moriah Peters and didn’t realize it! I have to try to get a note to her to tell her how much we love her music. And you’ll love the music of For King and Country tonight on TBN, too – they are amazing. Their song “Proof of Your Love” is one of my favorites.
Backstage at TBN (airing tonight at 10ET!) – My teenage daughter was sooo jealous I got to hang out with Francesca! She is a gem, and our whole family loves her music. She and I compared notes about being on the road with kids. The difference: her children are still pre-school age and so she and her husband (the band’s drummer!) just load them up and take them on the road. I told her Jeff and I used to do that, but things have changed a lot now that our kids are wanting to do sports … gotta stay home for that. It’s a whole new season. But anyway – you’ve got to see the show tonight. What a gift God has given her!
Backstage at TBN (airing tonight at 10 ET!) – I really enjoyed spending some time with Kyle Idleman, who is teaching Pastor at one of the largest churches in the country (30,000 per Sunday): Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY. God has given him a real gift of reaching out in a way that everyone can hear and “get”. A really good guy. And his books look fascinating. Now that I’m spending so much more time speaking with pastors, in advance of my new book The Good News About Marriage, I am hoping to connect with Pastor Kyle again soon to get his guidance.
Another amazing guest tonight on TBN (airing tonight at 10 ET!) that I really enjoyed meeting was Pastor Eric Mason of Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia. He told me his wife Yvette and the women their church were doing The Life Ready Woman! He told me she was excited he was going to be on the show with me, and he surprised her during dinner by pulling out his phone and doing a Facetime and letting me talk to her, which was so fun! God has given them a tremendous ministry there in Philly. I’m really hoping our paths cross again really soon.
