Glimpsesof, and Gratitude for our Daughter’s Wedding Day

We knew our daughter’s wedding would be a bit of a whirlwind.
One of our friends who had walked this road before us was kind enough to warn us that we might get only about 30 seconds with each guest at the reception. (No way, we thought. All these favorite people in our life will be converging in one space—we’ll have time!) Our friend was right. The day was a precious, emotion-packed blur. While I’m still basking in the goodness of it all (and to be honest, taking a few days this week to rest my body and mind), I’ll share just a few highlights:
We felt so much gratitude. Jeff and I were both there when Morgen took her first steps and we were there on Saturday when she took her most important steps. As Jeff walked her down the aisle, we were just overcome by how much our son-in-law (wow, that was so weird to type) loves our daughter. (If you’d like to hear from Ben and Morgen in their own words, listen to episode 35 of I Wish You Could Hear This. They were our podcast guests.)
Of course, there were a thousand other things to be grateful for last Saturday. God held back our temperamental Georgia skies from unloading rain until after the wedding ceremony was over. The team at Koury Farms, our amazing wedding venue, came in clutch with all the personal touches and “we’ve got this” guidance that made the day perfect. Morgen and Ben’s pastor, Mo Huggins, led a meaningful ceremony highlighted by gems like this one: “Marriage is like a chiropractor. It adjusts you.” Our friends and Ben and Morgen’s friends came from all over the country (one couple arrived a day early to help with tasks and errands!), and our family came from Singapore and Europe to witness this incredible day.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. So, I’ll let some favorite photos bring you into the highlights of the day.

I’ll be back next week with a blog full of practical tips to help us thrive in lives, marriages and relationships. For now, Jeff and I are savoring the goodness of the one new marriage relationship that started on Saturday!
