Shaunti Feldhahn Comprehensive Bio
SHAUNTI FELDHAHN is a ground-breaking social researcher, best selling author, and popular speaker – but a wife and mom first. After receiving a graduate degree from Harvard, and working on Capitol Hill and Wall Street, Shaunti now uses her analytical skill to investigate the most important surprises about the most important people in our lives. She focuses on digging out the little changes that will make the biggest difference in our lives, relationships, families, and workplace relationships.
Because each of Shaunti’s books is based on a multi-year, nationally-representative research study, they have become staples for both personal and professional relationships around the world, as well as for the therapists and clergy, corporate coaches and HR departments that serve families and organizations. These ground-breaking books have sold more than three million copies and been translated in 25 languages.
What began with Shaunti’s best-selling personal relationship books For Women Only: What You Need to Know About the Inner Lives of Men and For Men Only: A Straightforward Guide to the Inner Lives of Women (co-authored with her entrepreneur husband Jeff) where couples finally “get” what they have so often misunderstood about their mates, continues in their most recent book, Thriving in Love & Money. It is a money book that has very little to do with money. It’s not a “how to get out of debt” or boring budget book. Instead, it uncovers what is underneath our feelings about money – insights that allow couples to finally understand each other’s feelings (and their own!) about money matters. These insights are relationship game-changers. After all, couples who can talk about money can talk on just about anything!
Her book, The Kindness Challenge, is catalyzing a movement of kindness across the country and beyond. Dozens of prominent organizations and leaders are coming together to do The 30-Day Kindness Challenge, and encouraging their followers to do the same.
In Through A Man’s Eyes: Helping Women Understand the Visual Nature of Men, co-authored with XXXchurch.com founder Craig Gross, Shaunti sets out to help every woman know how to support a husband, boyfriend or son in today’s challenging culture.
Where the “Only” books opened readers’ eyes to the most important and unseen needs of men and women, her marriage research projects, uncovered secrets and truths about marriages. The Surprising Secrets of Highly Happy Marriages investigate the often-unseen process of what makes relationships happy — the simple things that anyone can do to improve any relationship!
In The Good News About Marriage, a cousin book to Surprising Secrets and targeted to leaders, Shaunti presents groundbreaking research that reveals the shocking, inspiring, and incredibly important truth about the state of marriage today. For example, Leaders who learn that the actual average divorce rate has never come close to 50%, church attendance makes a huge difference, and most marriages are strong and happy for a lifetime, are better equipped to help replace a sense of futility with the hope that is essential for saving marriages.
Shaunti has also helped teens and parents, with For Parents Only, For Young Women Only, and For Young Men Only and her book co-authored with Lysa TerKeurst, Made to Crave for Young Women. A very personal project to understand how to balance modern life became The Life Ready Woman book and its companion video study.
On the professional-relationship side, Shaunti’s ground-breaking Perceptions research, as presented in The Male Factor (and its related volume in the faith-based market, For Women Only in the Workplace) has proven extremely popular, and is especially groundbreaking in the women’s leadership arena. Through her corporate business, High Factor Results, she and her team of researchers and trainers have consulted with, conducted training, and spoken at dozens of the largest corporations and leadership organizations in the country.
Shaunti speaks at more than 50 widely diverse events each year, from corporations to universities to church women’s conferences; youth retreats to leadership events, to military workshops, to stadium simulcasts, and (often with Jeff) marriage conferences. Shaunti is a popular media commentator and her findings are regularly featured in media as diverse as The Today Show, Family Life radio and podcasts, Focus on the Family, The New York Times, and Cosmopolitan magazine.
